LANSING - The image of Jesus carrying his cross through the streets came to life in the streets of Lansing Friday. Members of the Cristo Rey Church continued their Good Friday tradition of enacting the Stations of the Cross in downtown Lansing. Jose Gallo, a member of the Youth Ministry program, portrayed Jesus. He was flanked by two men dressed as Roman soldiers. The procession began on the steps of the Capitol, and made its way north and east until reaching the Cristo Rey Community Center on High Street. This is the 34th year Cristo Rey has conducted a living enactment of the Stations of the Cross.
