LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- Supporters of the federal health care law say they're "going on the offensive" in Michigan and nine other states.
Liberal groups plan to hold town hall meetings and other events to tout the law's benefits. Protect Your Care and Americans United for Change say they'll "take on" Republicans undermining the law.
Michigan events are being worked on and weren't detailed Friday.
Major portions of the law kick in Jan. 1, with the uninsured enrolling in health plans starting Oct. 1. The move comes as Congress goes on summer recess.
In Michigan, the Republican-led Senate is debating whether to approve an expansion of Medicaid for low-income adults. A vote is expected in late August.
Conservative group Heritage Action for America plans a "Defund Obamacare Tour" in various states but not Michigan.
