LANSING (WILX)-- More than 20 Michigan Legislators, along with Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley, will plunge into an icy pool on the Capitol Lawn on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 3:00 p.m. as part of the third annual Legislative Polar Plunge.

This one of a kind event raises funds and awareness for Special Olympics Michigan (SOMI) athletes in the process.

The Legislative Polar Plunge has raised more than $50,000 for SOMI athletes over the last two years.

But with this cold weather is it safe? News Ten's Alyssa Fenske will have the details tonight at five.
