LANSING -- Lansing Police are searching for two suspects in Thursday morning's fatal shooting on Michigan Avenue.
One, a local male, is suspected of shooting 35-year-old Ygnacio Bermudez, Jr. just after 2 a.m. outside The Loft in downtown Lansing.
Police say the other suspect, also a local man, was seen fleeing the scene with the shooter.
"It appears that the victim was targeted, and that the suspect sought the victim, found him, and then shot him," said Lt. Noel Garcia, who declined to name the suspects until they've either issued an arrest warrant or have the men behind bars.
LPD has not yet ruled on a motive.
"We are in the process of getting a warrant," Garcia said. "We'll go wherever [the suspect] goes and search until he gets placed in custody and he's behind bars -- we won't stop looking."
Bermudez Jr., worked for a music promoter called Top Notch Productions and was inside The Loft until closing time. When he came outside, the gunman opened fire.
Bermudez Jr., who leaves behind a girlfriend and two children, died on the scene.
Officials believe the suspects are still in the area and should be considered armed and dangerous -- though police are hoping to bring them in soon.
