Lansing Marathon Attracting Volunteers

By  |

Dozens of people are ready to lend a helping hand to make sure Lansing's Marathon goes off without any problems.

Organizers tell us 46 people contacted them after seeing our story about the need for more course marshals last night.

They also say they've been overwhelmed by the response from the Lansing community looking for ways to honor the people killed in injured in the Boston bombings.

"Some of the runners families are making ribbons to hand out” says marathon volunteer coordinator Julie Powers. “We're inking B's on everyone's arm who wants one, running with solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Boston."

Marathon organizers still need about thirty more volunteers.
