Michigan State Police arrested a Lansing man early Sunday morning after a car chase. The man had outstanding warrants for heroin possession and child support.

A Lansing man with outstanding warrants for heroin possession and child support is behind bars after a police chase in Jackson County.

The man, 43, fled from the Jackson Police Department and the Jackson Sheriff's Office earlier in the evening, according to state police. MSP troopers located the vehicle at approximately 3 a.m. on Airport Rd. and Boardman Rd. in Blackman Township.

A chase ensued, ending when the suspect crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of North St. and West Ave. The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured and refused medical treatment.

The suspect was treated at Allegiance Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. He was alone in the vehicle.

Police hope to charge the man with fleeing and eluding, resisting and obstructing arrest and driving with a suspended license.
