John Moolenaar wins Republican primary for 4th Congressional District

John Moolenaar got a phone call from campaign rival Paul Mitchell around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday night, conceding the election.

Moolenaar and Mitchell had a heated campaign, with Moolenaar pulling forward 28 points in two weeks. Mitchell significantly outspent Moolenaar, and after many mud slinging advertisements, Moolenaar says it's his experience in state legislature that will get him elected come November.

Moolenaar is set to replace Republican representative Dave Camp if elected in a few months.
