Jackson Teen To Unveil Police & Fire Monument

An Eagle Scout service project more than a year in the making will be unveiled to the public this weekend.

17-year-old Timothy Johnson has spent the last year raising thousands of dollars for his Police and Fire Monument. It will honor all the fallen firefighters and police officers in Jackson County.

The ceremony is set for 2pm Saturday, September 21 at Blackman Park in downtown Jackson.

Johnson plans to have members of area departments participate in the ceremony, as well as family members of the fallen. He is encouraging anyone who personally knows a family member of one of the fallen to let him know, or let them know, so they can be present for the ceremony.
