A Jackson County teenager was arrested early Friday morning for making terroristic threats against a teacher.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office tells us they were requested by the Chelsea Police Department to investigate a threat of violence against a teacher in the Chelsea School District.
A deputy made contact with the suspect, a 16 year old male who lives in Waterloo Township and attends a school in the Chelsea district. After consulting the Jackson County Prosecutor, the teen was arrested for Terroristic Threats.
The threat was posted by the suspect on a social media site and made a very specific threat to a specific teacher in the district. As soon as Chelsea Police became aware of this activity the district and the teacher were immediately notified. Neither the teacher nor any students were ever in any danger.
The juvenile was taken to Allegiance Health systems for mental health clearance and was brought before the juvenile court this morning.
