Investigators Pinpoint Cause of Grand River Oil Spill

By  |

An accident at a manufacturing facility in Jackson is to blame for last month's oil spill in the Grand River.

The city says something happened at the Industrial Steel Treating Company on Carroll Avenue in mid-May that left 800-gallons of oil in the river.

The company is cooperating with the city helping with costs, and allowing investigators to check out their facility and procedures related to the spill.

The river has since reopened.
