Principal Arrested in Child Pornography Case to be Extradited in Jackson County County

The former Indiana school principal charged with child pornography in Jackson County will soon be in a Jackson jail cell. Jackson County Sheriff Deputies are heading to the Indianapolis area to pick him up. Michael Ettenberger is charged with six counts of child pornography. Jackson County's prosecutor says he allowed, even encouraged former PTO President at Columbia Middle School, Jill Miller, to send him child porn. Authorities say Ettenberger met Miller online, and they developed a relationship. Prosecutors say the two sent text messages and emails, in which Ettenberger allegedly urged Miller to send him photographs and a video which showed Miller fondling a 9-year old girl who was clothed. The video was found on Miller's phone. The incident did not happen at school, but Columbia's superintendent told us, there is relief Miller was caught.

"I think for the community there's a sense of healing and maybe relief that this is all said and done, and I'm sure the people that are acquainted with her are happy just to have this over," said Pam Campbell, Columbia's Superintendent.

Miller pleaded guilty last month to three counts of child pornography. She will be sentenced on January 8th. Prosecutors expect she will be going to prison. Ettenberger has numerous charges against him including second degree criminal sexual conduct, using a computer to commit a crime, and possessing child sexually abusive material. Ettenberger resigned from his middle school principal job in Indiana, after the district learned of the criminal investigation against him. He's expected to arrive in Jackson this afternoon.
