You could win a prize pack and be featured in the city's Activities Guide for your winning picture and story about your favorite place in Lansing.

The Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a photo and story contest called "I am Lansing", a phrase which embodies the spirit of the people who live, work and play in Lansing.

Earlier this year, the department designed a mascot known as C.U.F.F. (Community United with Food and Fitness) Lynx, to help in the quest to keep Lansing healthy and vibrant. If you enjoy running on the River Trail or have a favorite community center or special event, they want to know about it.

What to do: 1) Print off one (or all 3) image(s) of C.U.F.F. 2) Carry him about town with you as your participate in your normal activities, or try new ones! 3) Snap a picture of you and C.U.F.F. enjoying the activity 4) Write a brief paragraph (or more if you would like) describing where you were, what you did and what a great time you had 5) Email the picture and story to: Kalea Delezenne, TR Coordinator, kalea.delezenne@lansingmi.gov; or twitter #iamlansing.

Winners will be chosen three times a year. They will be featured in our Activities Guide and win a fun prize pack.

More details, including a picture of C.U.F.F. to print, can be found on the Lansing Parks & Recreation website, which we've put a link to below.
