Hundreds Take Part in Annual Ludington Lake Jump

LUDINGTON, Mich. (AP) -- Hundreds of people have taken part in the 14th annual Ludington Lake Jump.

Adults and children alike hopped into the 38-degree waters of Lake Michigan on Saturday to raise money for the West Shore Pregnancy Care Center.

The Ludington Daily News reports ( ) local law enforcement was on standby in case of an emergency.

The goal is to raise $40,000, which would allow West Shore Pregnancy Care Center to pay off the mortgage at its new location.

WSPCC is a faith-based nonprofit that offers free, confidential, self-administered pregnancy tests. The center also provides diapers, formula, clothing and high chairs for pregnant women. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
