DETROIT (AP) -- The Michigan Humane Society has announced a $2,500 reward for information in a case in which an armed robber killed a man's puppy by smashing it against the pavement.
The animal rights group says one of the robbers also fired a shot into the leg of Sean Harris about 2 a.m. Monday outside a Coney Island restaurant on Detroit's west side. It says Harris was picking up food for his mother.
WXYZ-TV has broadcast portions of security video showing one of the robbers raising the 9-week-old Shi Tzu puppy over his head as he prepares to kill it. The video also has a close-up of one of the suspects.
The Humane Society asks that anyone with possible information on the case to call 313-872-3401.
