The first ever How Bazaar Jackson Festival came to a close Sunday afternoon.

The inaugural event featured artists from all over the country competing for a total of $10,000 in cash prizes.

The two-day event also featured beer and wine tastings, live entertainment, kids activities and the "Taste of Jackson" -- an event normally held indoors.

"We had finished a Taste of Jackson last year and had a great event," said Paul Wrzesinski, a memebr of the How Bazaar committee. "It sold out but we were indoors, and kind of confined. It limited how many restaurants and how many people we could have. So we decided this year to put it out on the street to make it even better and better we added the artists and the entertainment."

Things kicked off with the Run or Dye 5K Saturday.

Organizers say about 5,000 people showed up for the weekend.
