Man Injured Trying to Save Burning House
A fire destroyed a home on Spring Street in Grand Ledge. The resident was taken to the hospital with burns.

GRAND LEDGE - A man was taken to the hospital with burns, after trying to put out a fire in his home.
The fire happened late Friday morning at a small home on Spring Street near the high school in Grand Ledge.
The resident told firefighters he was sleeping, when the smell of smoke woke him. The man saw flames at the back of his house. He tried to put the fire out himself, but failed and decided to get out.
Firefighters say the man received some burns in the attempt. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown.
The home was destroyed. Firefighters have yet to determine a cause.
