Horse Found in Summit Township

Jackson County Sheriff Deputies found a horse wandering loose in Summit Township on Friday morning. The horse was located in the area of South St. and Helena Ave.

The Sheriff's Office was able to catch the horse, and has arranged for temporary care and boarding for the animal.

The horse is a gelding; he is white with brown spots, and has a nylon halter on that is gray and tan.

The Sheriff’s Office is looking for the owner of this horse. If you are the owner, or know who this animal belongs to, please call the Sheriff’s Office Sergeant at 517 768-7901 or 517 937-6097.

The owner should be prepared to provide documentation showing ownership of the horse to the sheriff's department.
