Mid-Michigan Residents Left in the Dark for Hours

Residents in the Holt and Mason areas were left in the dark this morning after a power outage.

The outage was reported around 4 AM affecting over 9,000 customers. There was no immediate reason as to what caused it.

Consumers Energy restored power to 6,000 customers around 6:15 AM. Most of those residents were in Holt. 3,300 households in the Mason area are still without power at this time.

Consumers Energy found a damaged transformer at DART, which they are attributing to the cause of the outage. Power was fully restored around 7 AM.
