Think it is too late to get healthcare coverage through the Affordable Care Act?
You might be surprised.
Lansing, MI - Think it is too late to get healthcare coverage through the Affordable Care Act? You might be surprised by special enrollment options.
March 31st has come and gone, and the next open enrollment period isn't until November 15, but some people may qualify for special enrollment.
Anyone who might have experienced a qualifying life event such as marriage, birth, adoption, or changes in income - especially college graduates and young adults - may qualify.
The non-profit group, "Enroll America," is working to raise awareness about special enrollment, so that more people can get health insurance. The group has been canvassing Mid-Michigan.
Enroll America says most plans are low cost, around $50 a month, and most people receive financial assistance to pay for the insurance.
You can still apply for Medicaid at this time.
