LANSING - If were around the Capitol or downtown Lansing Friday morning, you may have seen several people carrying firearms. About 50 gun owners help a rally at the Capitol today starting at around 10 o'clock. Phillip Hofmeister, President of Michigan Open Carry, says he attended the rally, but his group did not organize the event. He says this was a nationwide campaign, communicated via social media, calling on 2nd Amendment rights advocates to go to their state capital buildings today. The event was peaceful, and ended around noon.
Hofmeister says that a much larger rally is planned for March 20th at the Capitol.
