The Great Lakes Folk Festival is underway in East Lansing.
Five stages and interactive events this year, like sing-a-longs and jam sessions, are happening all weekend long.
There's a new stage supported by MSU's international studies program devoted to global traditions.
Organizers say they want to create cultural understanding in Mid-Michigan.
Kurt Dewhurst, festival co-director, said, "It really is a living cultural exhibition. A museum really, come alive on the streets of East Lansing. It's one of those rare chances you can get up close and talk with people who may be your neighbors but you don't even know them that well."
Food is a big part of the Folk Fest, too.
You'll find traditional food from across Michigan and across the world in the food tent.
