Like the NERD fund, the new fund will be used to lessen the "financial burdens of government."

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder has created a new, more transparent nonprofit fund to replace one that came under scrutiny because unlimited funds from anonymous donors were used to pay certain government expenses.
The chairman of the Moving Michigan Forward fund said Thursday its primary distinction from what was known as the NERD fund is that donors will be disclosed.
Bill Martin says the goal is to regularly report donors, how much they contributed and when at www.movingmiforward.com .
In October, Snyder announced he would disband the New Energy to Reinvest and Diversify fund. It drew criticism because anonymous money was used to pay his top aide and some expenses for Detroit's state-appointed emergency manager.
Like the NERD fund, the new fund will be used to lessen the "financial burdens of government."
