Gov. Snyder Signs License Plate Replacement Bill

By  |

You're going to have to get a new license plate every 10 years like it or not.

Gov. Rick Snyder signed a bill Tuesday requiring drivers to replace their plates once per decade.

Supporters say it has nothing to do with getting more money from drivers. They say the idea is to make sure plates don't get too rusty to read, or lose reflectivity.

The law also requires the state to look into the possibility of switching to digitally-printed vinyl or plastic plates.
