GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities have identified the 10-year-old girl who died in an off-road vehicle crash in western Michigan.
The Kent County sheriff's department said Saturday that Brookelyn Elias was riding in a golf cart-style vehicle Friday with her 6-year-old brother Carter on a private driveway in Gaines Township, south of Grand Rapids. The vehicle crashed and rolled.
Sheriff's officials say emergency medical responders on the scene couldn't save Brookelyn. Carter was flown to a nearby hospital, where he remains with non-life-threatening injuries.
