DETROIT (AP) -- The General Motors Foundation is giving $150,000 to Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

The donation is to go toward expanding prevention education initiatives and providing support services to victims of drunk-driving crashes and their families.

MADD National President Jan Withers says the GM Foundation's contribution will help her group "serve more drunk-driving victims and prevent underage drinking."

The GM Foundation since 1995 has donated nearly $3.9 million in grants to support MADD's drunk-driving prevention and victim recovery work and to raise awareness about the importance of having a designated driver.
