GM To Build $174-Million Stamping Facility in Lansing

Lansing (WILX) GM announced Wednesday that it will start construction on a new stamping plant as part of its Grand River Assembly Plant.

It will be a 174 million dollar investment and create 145 new jobs.

The new facility will produce components for the Cadillac ATS and CTS.

"Lansing Grand River Assembly is known for the high quality of its work and the flexible manufacturing that has been a trademark since it opened," said GM North American Manufacturing Manager Christine Sitek.

The new facility is expected to come on line in 2016. It will save GM about $14 million a year in logistic costs.
