A church in Lansing where two factions of the congregation are fighting for control will not be open for services this Sunday.
Mayor Virg Bernero's office released a statement saying the Friendship Baptist Church canceled the Fire Marshal inspection scheduled for Friday morning. Church leaders tell us they weren't ready for it because they're still waiting on parts to fix a damaged door.
The city closed the church for fire-code violations last weekend after some members of the congregation locked the doors and windows to keep others out.
It's unclear if any services will be held outside the church, Sunday.
