Four Local High Schools Among Michigan's Best

Four mid-Michigan high schools get good grades from U.S. News and World Report when it comes to how well they prepare students for college.

The rankings of the best high schools were released Tuesday.

East Lansing and Okemos high schools ranked in the top 10 statewide, at numbers six and seven, respectively.

Owosso High School ranked 41st and Columbia Central High School in Brooklyn came in at number 62 in the state.

Michigan's top-ranked school is International Academy in Bloomfield Hills.

The rankings take into account math and reading scores.

Out of the more than 21,000 public high schools nationwide U.S. New and World Report reviewed, 206 schools in Michigan made the list.
