"We've tapped into the giving side of competitive spirit, and I think everyone wins."
You dropped off food and donated money and now organizers of the fifth annual "Downtown Food Fight" are tallying the results. Teams competed to get the most contributions for the Greater Lansing Food Bank. The winner takes home a prize.
"There's a little competitiveness in everyone, for some people it's in athletics, for some people it's in giving," said Lansing City Treasurer Antonia Kraus. "We've tapped into the giving side of competitive spirit, and I think everyone wins."
The winner of the food fight competition will have their name engraved in the Golden Can Traveling Trophy, which they can keep for the year.
