A utility says built-up steam pressure likely sent manhole covers into the air in downtown Detroit.
No injuries were reported. The Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News say DTE Energy Co. was notified about 9 p.m. Tuesday of the manhole problems.
DTE says crews ruled out an electrical fire or natural gas as the source of the problem.
