Plans call for the site of Flint's tallest building to become a family-friendly plaza with a science theme.
Uptown Reinvestment bought downtown Flint's 19-story Genesee Towers from the city for $1 and WEYI-TV reports plans would transform the site into Exploration Park. Meanwhile, planning is moving forward for an implosion to demolish Genesee Towers.
Plans for the Exploration Park call for a hands-on outdoor science museum with a xylophone, wind towers and a sun dial.
Meanwhile, The Flint Journal reports two downtown Flint streets have been closed in preparation for the demolition of Genesee Towers. A demolition date hasn't been set, but it was expected in December. Road closures are expected in the area into the spring.
