Some kids got a chance to see their heroes up close on the football field Sunday.
The New World Flood held its annual "Battlefield Brawl" flag football game as a fundraiser for the Oldham Kids Project, a specific, local non-profit that serves child suffering and terminal illnesses.
"These are all local organizations," said New World Flood Well Watcher, Bill Morris. "This is an entire volunteer operation. We're excited that we have average Janes and Joes as our team, and then we draft celebrity x-factors. Former NCAA and professional athletes come out here, and they're all in support of the kids."
Former Spartan running back Todd J. Duckett is the co-founder of New World Flood. The non-profit organization's mission is to "flood the world with service," and volunteerism.
