UPDATE: Fire Breaks Out at the Old Consumers Energy Building

JACKSON - Firefighters have put down a blaze at the former Consumers Energy headquarters building in downtown Jackson. The building is in the process of being demolished, and several workers were inside the building at the time the fire started. Some of the workers were temporarily trapped in the building, but firefighters were able to get them all out by 3 o'clock.

Several fire companies from across Jackson County came to help put down the fire in the 12 story building.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

News 10 has a crew heading to the fire. Watch for the latest tonight at 5pm & 6pm.
