Field to Replace Rep. Mike Rogers Narrowing

As the deadline to file and turn in petitions from 8th Congressional Seat gets closer, potential candidates to replace Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Brighton) are making their decisions.

On the Democratic side, Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum and Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero are considered to be the top candidates, says Susan Demas of Inside Michigan Politics.

For the Republicans, Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan K Barnett has already opened up a Facebook page asking for support. State Senator Joe Hune (R-Hamburg) is also considering a run. Rep. Rogers brother, state Rep. Bill Rogers has pulled his name out.
