A big step toward paying for the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams Tuesday, when the Michigan Strategic Fund will vote on a proposal to issue a little more than $91 million worth of bonds.
The state would pay it off with tax dollars over the next 12 years or so.
Ground was broken at the FRIB at Michigan State University last Monday. It is supposed to be finished by the year 2022.
Most of the funding for the FRIB is coming from the federal government.
