An eight grader is $5,000 closer to getting a college education. Victoria Judd, a student at Windemere Park Charter Academy, was one of four winners in a national essay contest.
In the essay she had to write about how her morals helped someone else. She choose to write about a girl she met online who was thinking about committing suicide and how she managed to talk her out of it.
Judd says the money will make a real difference in her future plans.
"I'm really glad that i did do it, because its just... it's great for the people who have a harder time getting into schools and stuff... it will allow them to have a better chance of going for their goals" said Judd.
She hopes to be a psychologist one day.
