The 24 employees laid off by Eaton RESA are asking the school district to think of the children as it lays off the staff that supports children with special needs.
Eaton RESA says the move will save $300,000 in tight financial times. Plus, those employees will have priority in reapplying for the same position through Grand Ledge Public Schools. Taking that job would also mean taking pay cuts, fewer hours and wipe out health benefits.
