East Lansing Schools' Superintendent Leaving Job

East Lansing Public Schools Superintendent David Chapin will be leaving his job. He has accepted a new job with the Michigan State University College of Education.

Chapin has been superintendent in the East Lansing district for nine years. He is a 1970 graduate of the high school.

The new MSU position will put him in charge of a team of educators who will be helping Michigan schools close achievement gaps.

The target date for his retirement from East Lansing is September 1.
