EPA Investigating Asbestos Removal

The Environmental Protection Agency has opened a criminal investigation at the former School for the Blind"in Lansing after workers hired to remove asbestos by MAC Contracting filed a safety complaint. The Ingham County Land Bank is using a grant to pay for the job. It issued a Stop Work order Tuesday. The state has its own investigation and should be finished in a couple weeks. We don't know how long the EPA's investigaton will take. Part of the school is being turned into low-income family housing. Stay with News 10 and wilx.com for more details on this story.
