An East Lansing Police detective has been honored for helping take a suspected rapist off the streets.

Sergeant Andrew Bouck received the 2013 Distinguished Service Medal from the Mich. Assoc. of Chiefs of Police on Tuesday.

He got it for all the hours he spent leading a task force to catch a man who was assaulting MSU students last spring. That man, Oswald Wilder, is currently awaiting trial on several charges, including criminal sexual assault and unlawful imprisonment. Police say he confessed.
