CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- A 27-year-old West Michigan man has been charged after two people were killed in a crash involving three vehicles in Kent County.
The Grand Rapids Press reports that Joseph Ford was arraigned Friday in Kent County District Court on two counts of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated causing death.
The crash late Thursday in Cascade Township left 23-year-old driver Eric Fischer of Gaines Township and a 20-year-old passenger Andrea Herrera of Lowell dead.
Police say the crash occurred after Ford ran a red light. The car Fischer and Herrera were in was pushed into a semi-truck. Ford, of Kentwood, was being held in the county jail on a $50,000 bond.
