DeWITT TOWNSHIP - The driver of a car being chased at over 100 miles-per-hour by police through two counties crashes on a gravel road in Clinton County. The high-speed chase happened Thursday night.
Lansing Police & Eaton County sheriff's office deputies were working together, checking on some known locations for drug trafficking along the Waverly Road corridor. Lansing police say an Eaton County deputy noticed a car drive away from a location erratically, and attempted to make a traffic stop. The driver the the car speed away. The chase went north into Eaton County and eventually into southern Clinton County. Clinton County Sheriff's Office official says that speeds reached 110 miles-per-hour.
The fleeing vehicle was on Stoll Road, west of the Grove Road, when the driver ran onto gravel, overturned the car and was ejected.
Officers provided first aid until EMT's arrived and took the man to Sparrow Hospital. No other details were immediately available.
