JACKSON COUNTY - Jackson Sheriff's Deputies detain three teenagers in connection to a stolen handgun.

Sheriff's deputy reports that a 16-year-old girl is believed to have stolen the loaded, .38 caliber handgun and money from her parents' safe, before running away from home on Thursday.

Deputies were able to locate the girl and another 16-year old, but she was not in possession of the gun. The two juveniles were taken to the Jackson County Youth Center.

She faces a possible charge of larceny of a firearm.

Overnight, the stolen handgun was located in possession of a 16-year-old boy in the 1700 block of Deyo Street in Jackson. He too was taken into custody and could face charges.
