One of our local auto plants will spend some time in the Hollywood spotlight this summer. "Transformers: Age of Extinction" comes out Friday and some of the movie will include shots from the GM Delta Township Plant.
Director Michael Bay and his crew filmed scenes inside the plant last August, which fills in for a factory in China in the movie. Scenes were also filmed at the GM Proving Ground in Milford and the GM Design Center in Warren.
Making a big appearance in the movie is GM's Camaro-- a.k.a. "Bumblebee." This is video from last year's auto show, when local GM workers came to check it out to see what they'll be building at the Grand River Plant sometime next year. This will be the Camaro's fourth appearance in a Transformers movie, which has helped boost its sales ever since its on-camera debut.
