DeWitt Teens Honored With National Life-Saving Award

The DeWitt teens who became heroes on spring break last year have been given another award for their life-saving actions.

Cody Decker and Luke Vaughn are among 22 recipients of the Carnegie Medal, a medal given through the US and Canada to people who risk their lives to save others.

Decker & Vaughn pulled two people from a burning car in Palm Coast, Florida last April, just seconds before it exploded.

The teens were also given awards by the Flagler County Sheriff and the DeWitt Board of Education in the days following the rescue. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
