Dart Container plans to invest $47 million in its Mason-area campus and add up to 325 jobs. The investment will include a new corporate headquarters and additional warehouse facilities.
The expansion will integrate the Solo Cup corporate and administration operations into Dart's Michigan operation. Dart bought the giant maker of the familiar red cup earlier this year.
Many of the the additional jobs will be created by the relocation of some Solo Cup Company staff from the Chicago area to Mason. However, there will be new jobs created by the expansion.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation announced that the Michigan Strategic Fund will contribute $3 million towards a performance-based grant for the expansion project.
