MUNDY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- An official says about 30 Michigan high school students were asked to leave their prom because of what was described as inappropriate dancing.
The Flint Journal reports the Grand Blanc High School students didn't follow rules that permit only face-to-face dancing.
More than 600 students attended the prom Friday at the Holiday Inn Gateway Center in Genesee County's Mundy Township. Principal Jennifer Hammond says the students who were asked to leave weren't asked to do so until there was about 45 minutes left in the dance.
Grand Blanc High School senior Cole Edwards was asked to leave the prom and says he doesn't think the punishment was fair.
In September, some students were sent home from the school's homecoming dance because they didn't follow rules regarding face-to-face dancing.
