DEVELOPING: Airplane Makes Emergency Lansing at Capital Region International Airport

A Jet with 166 passengers and crew on board made an emergency landing at Capital Region International Airport Thursday. The Allegiant Air Flight 657 , an MD-80 jet had just taken off for Orlando, Florida when a "compression alert" sounded.

The plane turned around and landed safely. Passengers are now waiting in the terminal while mechanics check out the plane. The plan is to repair the issue and continue the flight. This is a developing story, stay with WILX.com and News 10 for further updates, as information becomes available.
