WESTLAND, Mich. (AP) -- Wayne County is set to host its first Bark in the Park dog walk.
The pooch parade is planned for Saturday at Nankin Mills Park in Westland.
Participants and their four-legged companions are to walk a mile to the county dog park, where the canines can enjoy some off-leash time while their owners check out offerings from pet-related vendors.
At the conclusion of the event, all are to head back to Nankin Mills for some doggy -- and human -- snacks.
The cost to take part in the Bark in the Park is $10 per dog, and that includes a doggie bandanna and dog treats. Proceeds from the event will go toward the maintenance and upkeep of the dog park.
