The Michigan Corrections Organization is gathering outside the Ionia Correctional Facility to hold an informational picket.
The group plans to urge the community to reach out to the Michigan Department of Corrections and Governor Snyder about the facility's security cuts.
This comes after Michael David Elliot managed to slip through security measures and escape from the prison last February.
The group says the security weaknesses haven't been addressed.
